NW’s project development is based on an integrated approach in collaboration with strategic partners, delivering significant added value in engineering, technology, and innovation.
The best locations are selected based on technical and economic criteria, an analysis of the electrical grid, and applicable zoning regulations. This research is conducted by “L’Usine à Foncier”, a team of about ten people based in downtown Lyon (France). The team uses JouleSearch® software, developed in-house by NW’s tech teams. Once a site has been selected, our prospectors take over to meet with property owners and propose a partnership through commercial leases.
The process is fully digitalised, from the identification of suitable land to the application for a building permit and the request for utility connections. Thanks to this, we have a very fast time-to-market.”

The connection team adapts its processes to accommodate the scheduling constraints and project coordination of the Distribution System Operator. The thorough understanding of the operation and geographical constraints of the medium-voltage network enables NW to refine project specifications and implement connection solutions that are simpler, less costly and more efficient for the community. The team’s technical and administrative expertise, combined with its logistical agility, has enabled NW to develop a fluid working relationship with the Distribution System Operator.
Risk management is an integral part of our operational processes. This involves identifying any risks that could affect the installation of our solutions, assessing their potential impact and establishing binding standards to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Through early planning, we develop monitoring indicators and objectives tailored to the policies of each country for each product. We implement a prevention plan for each partner, including an analysis of specific risks. Safety inspections are conducted to verify compliance with the rules. Our approach is one of continuous improvement. We analyse every past incident, enabling us to implement new, tailored processes to enhance our standards.
Our industrialised solution development process is a replicable model for new markets. NW’s approach enables us to deliver reliable, optimal solutions that are tailored to each new deployment. Our international expansion is based on NW’s expertise and specialised business knowledge. NW relies on a proven project development methodology and leading local partners.
Our international expansion is driven by the standardisation of our products, the strength of the NW business model and the adaptability of our dedicated team who can respond to the unique context of each country.”

The land acquisition specialist is a field sales representative. As a mobile professional, he establishes partnerships with property owners through commercial leases. The lease guarantees an annual rent in exchange for the use of a small area of land, and the owner retains full ownership of the property. Each prospector is well-versed in land law, utility connection techniques, urban planning regulations and construction specifications. This multidisciplinary skill set is essential for the smooth operation of NW’s logistics chain.
This engineer specialises in understanding the power grid and is responsible for each project, from the planning phase through to commissioning. His expertise in the middle-voltage grid enables him to identify suitable sites. He works closely with the Distribution System Operator at every stage to gain maximum visibility into the schedule for his project portfolio. He liaises with the plant and construction teams to coordinate project progress.
As an expert in regulations, urban planning standards and land-use plans, the land and urban planning manager ensures that the JBox® is installed in compliance with regulations and seamlessly integrated into our landscapes. This is supported by the recognition of the JBox® as being in the public interest by all local authorities. The installation of this micro-storage unit is permitted in virtually all land zones and does not impact activity in urban or agricultural areas.
