Jean-Christophe Kerdelhué is an independent French entrepreneur specialising in energy with over 35 years of experience.
He started his career at Compagnie Générale des Eaux (now Veolia), before joining SIIF (a hydropower generation company), where he spent around ten years as a project manager and advisor to the president.
In 2000, he joined EDF Energies Nouvelles as general manager for the overseas territories. In this role, he specialised in generating electricity from renewable energy sources (hydropower, solar thermal and wind), while addressing the specific territorial challenges of the French West Indies (Guadeloupe, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin and Martinique), French Guiana and Réunion.
In 2007, he founded the NW Group. Initially, he focused on operating and developing renewable energy production sites. Then, as a pioneer, he expanded his business into the highly strategic field of electricity storage.
In 2019, he filed a patent for a system that enables his small stationary battery storage units, the JBox®, to be coupled with a high-power charging station for electric vehicles, the ICharge®. This solution enabled his subsidiary, NW Storm, to become the first unicorn in the energy transition.
Today, NW is a member of the French Tech Next 40 for the third consecutive year. The group is the market leader in battery-based electricity storage in France and Finland, and is also expanding into Sweden, Italy, Texas (USA) and Japan. Jean-Christophe Kerdelhué is the group’s Executive Chairman and majority controlling shareholder.
